Officer Kitka has been with the Oxnard Police Department for 10 years, spending much of that time in our Special Enforcement Unit (SEU), also commonly known as SWAT. He brings a wealth of knowledge to the K-9 unit, who often work with SEU during operations and critical incidents. Officer Kitka was also a scout during his latter tenure in SWAT, which helped him develop problem solving skills which are also one of most important skills of a K9 Handler.

His partner, K9 Al is a 14 month old Dutch Shepherd who is currently patrol trained for locating suspects and assisting in apprehension.
